We have spent the last 2 days constructing different projects using renewable energy. This has been accomplished since I was awarded a grant that enabled us to purchase kits for students to use! Check out my website for pictures!
Today we learned more about the atom. Students also did a lab making paper airplanes. This lab involved creating paper airplanes and making adjustments to improve their distance. We then graphed the results.
Today we started science! We will be doing science until 3rd marking period and then we will pick it up again 4th marking period. Our essential question for the day: What is matter? Students watched a video and took notes, filled out an atom paper, did a safety sort, looked at the monthly newsletter, looked at the blog, the moodle and started a packet! Whew! We were busy today! Quiz on atoms/static electricity is October 10th. The current electricity quiz has been moved to October 25th!
Today we learned about the Panama Canal. First we focused on our notes from yesterday and added to them by using the textbook in groups. We related everything to our essential question,”How do physical features, natural resources, & government affect Panama’s economy?” Lastly, we watched Discovery’s Extreme Engineering to add to our notes!
Read the article on the moodle and comment a reaction here about what should be done to help the rain forest.
