Class held in planetarium today. Notes on solar and lunar eclipses. Note diagrams below of geometry of Earth-Moon-Sun system and animation of next total solar eclipse in November 2012. Note the umbra and penumbra shadows. What is syzygy? We will be using the NASA Eclipse website in the computer lab Thur and Fri.
