Students continue work on Acid-Base activity using the marshmallows. What is the difference between how a strong base and a weak base dissociate? There will be a quiz on Th 3-3-11 on acids and bases and the pH scale. The map below shows the pH of precipitation (rain/snow) across the US. Note that all rainwater is slightly acidic (how do you know this?). Why would the industrial NE have rain that is called “acid rain?”

Students finished watching Making Stuff-Smaller and discussed nanotechnology. We then viewed and discussed the powers of 10 site shown below. Click on the image to go to the site. 2D Motion lab is due by Friday at the latest (paper copy to me and a shared copy on Google docs). Bring a stuffed animal to class on Thursday for x-credit (to see if you are reading the blogs).
