Hola – Summer Review

Hola, amigos.  ¿Cómo están?  Are you finding any time to practice your español???  Do whatever you can to practice; apps on your devices, talk to people, watch movies you already know in Spanish (with English captions), listen to Spanish music or talk radio/tv, review your vocabulary and grammar notes, search topics online.

To get more ready for the beginning of Spanish 2, try working on the following packets.  They will be the first two chapters you will cover.

Chapter 9 Summer Packet

Chapter 10 Summer Packet

Below is a list of ways to practice that I have on my Moodle (in the Parents section).

  • Make flash cards to practice vocabulary words. Whenever possible, put a picture on one side with the Spanish word on the other side.
  • Use Spanish in everyday language as much as possible.
  • Read product labels, signs and directions written in Spanish.
  • Have a study buddy to call for practice, explanations and to study together.
  • Use a recorder to record vocabulary or sentences and play them back to listen for correct pronunciation.
  • Practice speaking Spanish with native speakers in the community.
  • Use digital and print resources such as textbooks, Moodles, and bilingual dictionaries to answer questions when a teacher is not available. www.wordreference.com
  • Use the Internet to visit textbook websites (http://my.hrw.com/) and other appropriate websites in the target language (www.spanishspanish.com).
  • Find apps for your personal devices and Chromebooks to practice with. I have a whole list at the top of my Moodle.
  • Have fun with it!!!
